Corporate Leavers - The Cost of Employee Turnover Due to Unfairness

About Us

The Corporate Leavers Web Site

The Corporate Leavers website, a project of the Level Playing Field Institute, aims to identify, quantify and remove the hidden biases and barriers in the workplace. The Corporate Leavers website is a product of the Corporate Leavers Survey - a quantitative and qualitative study completed in 2007. The quantitative study, which began with a nationally representative sample of 19,000 participants, identifies the role of unfairness in voluntary employee turnover at the professional or managerial level. The qualitative study is a collection over 1,000 interviews of professionals and managers who experienced workplace unfairness. The Corporate Leavers Survey not only calculates the cost of voluntary employee turnover due solely to unfairness but includes invaluable insight as to what employers can do to keep their employees.

The website features four main pages which contain interactive flash environments, research and best practices for employees and employer alike. This website is produced and maintained by the Level Playing Field Institute and its staff. For more information about the Corporate Leavers projects, please contact Martha Kim, Esq., Director of Workplace Programs and Research at martha@lpfi.org.

Level Playing Field Institute

The Level Playing Field Institute, a San Francisco based nonprofit, promotes innovative approaches to fairness in higher education and workplaces by removing barriers to full participation. Through our Summer Math and Science Honors (SMASH) Academy for high school students and our Initiative for Diversity in Education and Leadership (IDEAL) Scholars Program at UC Berkeley, we help to reveal and remove barriers for students of color in education. Through academically rigorous research and the development of tools and resources, we help to identify and eradicate the subtle, day-to-day biases that make workplaces unfair and unwelcoming, especially for people of color, women and GLBT professionals. We believe fairness matters and that no one should have to work twice as hard to get half as far. For more information about the Level Playing Field Institute, please visit www.lpfi.org.
